Less Wright, President

Less is the president and founder of Applied NanoCarbon.

He has had extensive involvement in the growth, cutting and sale of lab-grown diamond since 2002, as the President of BetterThanDiamond.com and its lab-grown diamond site, http://TakaraDiamonds.com.

This knowledge left him well aware of the shortcomings of then-current high pressure technology (HPHT) for diamond growth, which led to discussions with a leading University about commercializing their research into Plasma-CVD grown diamonds.

The result was Applied NanoCarbon, which has since exclusively licensed the University's entire IP portfolio related to diamond growth.

Less was formerly a software programmer, tester and program manager at Microsoft and the former president and founder of software consulting firm, Wright Futures, an 8 person firm which did extensive programming for Microsoft as a vendor.

In 2001, he invented the Asha® imitation diamond, which combined lab grown amorphous diamond with a CZ core to produce an extremely realistic diamond simulant and has powered the growth of BetterThanDiamond.com since.

He is currently attending Taft Law School (2nd year) and has 1 Patent Pending:

US Patent Application No: 12/139,931

He trains at the professional level in Mixed Martial Arts (No Holds Fighting), under Trevor Jackson and Matt Hume.
